After Care

After Care : Henna

  • DON’T GET WET!!!
  • Leave the henna paste on for a minimum of 5 hours.  8 to 10 hours is better.
The longer the henna paste remains in contact with the skin the darker the stain and the longer the design will stay.
  • Keep warm for deepest stain. Sweating may spread the stain.
  • When removing the protective tape, scrape off henna with fingers, credit card, or plastic butter knife.
  • Rub the design area with any oil or balm that doesn’t contain water.
  • DO NOT let the design come in contact with water for 24 to 48 hours.
Water will stop the stain’s developing process.
  • Your henna design will darken over 48 hours and last 1 to 2 weeks.
The longevity of the design will vary based on body area, skin texture, and after care.
  • Continue to apply oil or balm daily for best results.

Aftercare Extras

  • Henna paste can transfer and stain skin or fabric when in contact for longer than an hour.  A stocking is a great way to protect your design overnight while the ink develops and sets.
  • When showering, apply oil/balm first, and use a rubber glove with a hair tie around the wrist to prevent it touching water.

After Care : Jagua Gel

  • Let the jagua gel sit for a minimum of 2 hours, 3-5 hours is better. The longer the gel remains in contact with the skin, the darker the stain and the longer the design will stay.
  • Sweating may spread the stain.
  • When removing the protective tape, wash the area with soap and water until the gel is completely gone.
  • Rub the design area with any oil or balm.
  • Your Jagua gel design will darken over 24 hours and will remain from 1 to 3 weeks.
The longevity of the design will vary based on body area, skin texture, and after care.
  • Continue to apply oil or balm regularly to maintain your design for longest possible time.
  • Once set, water will not wash off the design, but avoid scrubbing the area to maintain your design for longest time possible.
